Sure. I don't know how helpful I can be but I can tell you a few things from experience. Take this with a grain of salt.

1. Voice acting is not just the voice. It is also the acting, as the term implies. Take some basic acting lessons. I recommend a Stanislavski book, those are a staple to an acting curriculum. You could have the cutest, sexiest, most beautiful voice in the world but if you don't have any skill to back it up, you won't get far.

2. Voice acting is also the voice. It is a different skill from just acting on stage or in film. Take some classes on voice control. A singing class is great for this. You might not want to be a singer, but the skills you learn from it will really help boost your voice acting ability.

3. Prepare for disappointment. As all actors face, and the same goes for voice actors, you're going to be rejected a lot more than casted. Even myself, my rejection to cast ratio is probably 100:1, no matter how hard that is to believe. Don't let one rejection discourage you, don't let 1000 rejections discourage you. As an actor understand that you aren't being rejected because you're bad, you're being rejected because you don't fit the part.

4. Learn to work with people. Voice acting may be just a hobby, but it is an industry you're entering. You will not only be working with other actors, you will be working with producers, directors, musicians, artists, and many other people. Understand that you are not the center of anything, and that, especially as an actor, you are replaceable. Be friendly and learn to work with people, don't make people work with you. From my experience, even if you aren't any good, if you're someone who is nice to work with, you will be picked even over someone "more skilled".

5. Do not expect to become famous overnight. Do not expect to become famous at all. You are not the first to do this, and you will most definitely not be the last. There are hundreds of thousands of people in the amateur community alone, so you have a lot of competition. If you're doing this only to become famous, stop now, you won't get any further than this.

That should be a good starting point. From there, watch a lot of videos as a student, looking for what works and what doesn't, and learning from that. Ask other people too, I certainly am not the foremost expert on this.

In all seriousness it's been pretty emotional moving in. As I was unpacking I felt the onset of a slight depression (probably homesickness). But my roomies are pretty cool, I think it's going to be a good year.

Anime Expo 2010

This was my first year at Anime Expo, and it was amazing! I mostly attended voice acting panels as well as AX Idol. I didn't win, but it was super fun, and I learned a lot of stuff.

Day 1

Anime Expo 2010 Day 1

This was Anime Expo Idol 2010. I got there in the morning, picked up my badge, and then rushed all around to find where the AXIdol sign-in was. Turns out it was in the JW Marriot hotel outside of the convention center. Luckily I made it in time, but I was quite tired, which is probably why my throat dried up partway through my audition. The competition was intense, but really fun.

Day 2

Anime Expo 2010 Day 2

The only significant thing I did this was was the Danny Choo panel, but it was very inspiring. Choo basically explained his story about how he made it to Japan. It was quite a touching story I thought. I didn't win the game of jan-ken-pon for the Black Rock Shooter figure though. I found it in the deal hall for almost $100 O.O

Day 3

Anime Expo 2010 Day 3

This was the Crispin Freeman panel and AX Idol finals. I thought it would be a good idea to attend the finals anyway, just to see what I would be up for next year. It was quite a rush, there were so many people, and the excitement was only boosted by Johnny Yong Bosch and Cristina Vee. All of the finalists were amazing, they definitely deserved to win. Freeman's panel was also very educational.

Day 4

Anime Expo 2010 Day 4

The final day of the con, and the Cristina Vee panel and the big Voice Acting panel. Those were also really fun and educational. Not much else to say about that. Had to leave early to get to the bus in time to head back to San Diego, otherwise I would have stayed to watch the AnimeTV panel.

Overall, the experience was great, and I hope to be able to go again next year.

It's finally over, year 1

Phew, I can't believe I made it through the first year of college alive! Actually, I must say, it wasn't that hard.

Being in a dorm by myself, I felt a lot more independent, which meant I got to stay up as late as I wanted, no curfew or bedtime, it was completely my own responsibility. This meant I had to learn to be more responsible, but I also had a lot more freedom, which helped a lot to take off the stress of school-work and responsibility for myself.

I never did get a job, but I did make some money on my own, a little by my Voice Acting work and a little by my website. I really should get a job though.

Finals have been the worst every quarter, but once they were over, it felt great. It was bad, but never so bad that it put me into a state of panic. Maybe this is a side effect of being more responsible for myself.

This has certainly been an experience. I am far from being able to support myself completely on my own, but you know, college is a time for learning, not only academically but about the real world too. I'll be getting an apartment for next year, that'll be even more exciting.

I'm just glad it's finally all over. It's time for summer! Up next, Anime Expo and Comic-Con!

Avatar (and not the air bender)

I went with my roommates to see Avatar, that new movie that's out in theaters. Thought it'd be a great way to kick off the quarter, since I imagine this is going to be one long winter.

I must say it is an absolutely amazing movie. The CG is wonderful, very detailed, at times, it was hard to tell the reality from the animation.

The plot was great. Simple enough to follow and sophisticated enough to get you thinking. Some elements were hard to remember, but the ideas were always present so this wasn't a problem.

I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen at (at this point, I doubt there isn't anyone who hasn't seen it).

So that's my short review of Avatar, and my first day of the quarter. It's gonna be a long one, but I'll see it through to the end.

Xmas! Present Galore!

For Xmas, I got the MXL 990 USB Condenser Microphone with a standard pop screen. I'd been looking at it for a while, and I read some good reviews, so I asked for it.

It really is good, but it gave me a bit of trouble starting up. Once I downloaded the right drivers though, it was pretty much the quality I expected it to be. I imagine I'd have truly professional quality when I go to record in the music room at college.

So here's some pics. Hopefully I can get some awesome stuff out with that mic soon too.

First day of finals week, I'm already dead [tired]

I think my story actually stats last night. I stayed up until almost 4:00 AM trying to finish my final English paper, as that was part of the requirement for the in-class final.

So eventually, I finished and went to sleep, being sure I set my alarm early enough. Unfortunately, I was so tired that I slept through the alarm. I woke up at 7:57 AM. A mere 4 hours of sleep. Oh, and my final was at 8:00 AM in a building I didn't have time to find beforehand.

It's a beautiful December, the sky is full of gray melancholic clouds. It's pouring freezing rain outside, and I was in such a rush that I had nothing put a pair of pants and a t-shirt on. I picked up the papers I had prepared for the final and ran like I was in the Olympics.

No breakfast, minimal clothes that were accepted by society, barely any sleep, and the pressure of an English final.

I arrived barely in time, so I didn't disrupt too much. I got in there and tried to write my paper. Being dead tired, I strung together only whatever thoughts came to mind and got out of there as fast as I could. I took maybe an hour and a half out of the three hours we were allotted and just booked it.

At least I know I won't have to deal with that again for a little while.

I came back to the entrance of my building to realize that earlier, I was in such a rush that I had forgotten my cell phone and my room key. I couldn't call my roommate and ask him to open the door for me, nor could I open the door myself.

I sat there in a beautiful rain for a good amount of time, just looking up at the sky and watching the water fall.

Eventually, I was let in by a fellow building resident. Now I'm here posting this entry.

This was only the first day of finals week, but I'm hoping I can prepare myself better after this. I'm so crashing. I acknowledge that most of this is probably my own fault, but that doesn't stop me from complaining :>

You know, ironically, my final paper and exam were on the topic of suicide. Just thought I'd point that out.

Huaaaa! Kaz SSAF Get!

So, the new Pangya update came out, and with it, the release of the Kaz SSAF set. I decided to try luck. I hate gambling with premium points, but I thought it might be worth it.

I was right.

I was scratching a buncha tickets, it looked pretty hopeless, but I wasn't expecting much, so I wasn't bothered.

And then...

What's this!?!?! I've only got 30-something tickets left, and this...The box says Kaz on it!

Booyah! I did it! I waited all this time, and I finally won the Kaz SSAF!

Check me out! Holy crap! Now, I can't wait for Kaz's dragon to come out.

I haven't played Pangya is so long, and I probably will keep the slow pace. I haven't played any of the event, I'm not going to bother anymore, but Pangya will be great every once in a while.

Free Red Bull?!?!

So, we were walking back from dinner when we were stopped. It was two girls, pretty young looking, probably our age, driving around in a buggie with a huge red bull can on top. They asked if we wanted red bull. I was a little skeptical, wondering what the catch was, but there was none, they just handed us the cans and went off to the next group. Maybe they were advertising or something. Nonetheless, it was pretty cool.

Right as we were leaving, the car that was waiting to pass started to follow the red bull car. The driver was shouting "Hey! Red Bull! Wait! Stop!" chasing the car down. It was pretty funny, I guess you had to be there. Too bad I didn't have my camera.

I wonder why we were stopped. Maybe it was because I was wearing my cloak. The groups behind and ahead of us didn't seem to have any red bull. Interesting thing to speculate about. My cloak has gained me a bit of attention around campus, I'm surprised my teachers haven't commented yet. Whatever.

So, that was my 'interesting story of the night'. Now I have to think of an interesting story for English class tomorrow.

Blue Angels and Golden Knights

So, I went to see the MCAS Miramar air show last night. I missed most of the day show, so it was the twilight showing that we attended. It was pretty awesome. We arrived just in time to see the golden knights parachute troop. Fun stuff.

The fireworks show was pretty spectacular, probably more so than the 4th of July.

Seeing the hornet fly around was really cool too. You could feel it's speed.

And then there was the wall of fire. Quite literally a wall made of fire. That was intense, we could feel the heat from where we were standing.

So, maybe I'll have a video and photos up soon.

End of Welcome Week: Block Party!

So, after all of the classes today, my roommates and I went out to the block party. It was pretty chill, there wasn't too much dancing or anything going on, though there was a lot of smoking.

Welcome Week Day 1: Maz Jobrani

Gosh, my camera sucks, or maybe it's just my hand. All of the pictures came out blurry as all hell, so I don't have much to show off.

So we had a Freshman Convocation, where we met our Dean and stuff. He's actually a really chill guy. Once the meeting was over, he stripped off his chancellor outfit and we danced and did the wave. I think we've got an awesome school.

Then, we went to see Maz Jobrani, a comedian. He was pretty good, his stuff was relevant and interesting, he certainly engaged the audience.

I really feel welcome, I think it's going to be a good year. Classes start on Thursday I think, I'll be ready for that. I hope the dean was right when he said that the years will just wiz by, 'cause I already can't wait to be done (not in the bad way, I'm excited about school, but I'm excited about what's beyond that too).

Got my license + Pangya!

I passed my driving test :D I can now drive myself around. The test wasn't too hard, though now I'm exhausted. Maybe it's 'cause I woke up too early. Not much to say about that.

In other news, NtreevUS has started a new Pangya event, the Ventus missions. This will be a nice chance to win some awesome super rare clubsets. I wish they were giving away the wings instead of feathers, but I won't complain too much.

Unfortunately, I've got to get moving, so I won't be able to play Pangya. I'll just take this time to enjoy home while I can, then it's off into the real world!

Finally reached Amateur E!

For those who play Pangya, you'd know, Amateur E isn't exactly the easiest level to get to. I've been anticipating this, since now I can wear practically every available equipment :D I immediately blew 250K on Arin equips once I got there. Totally worth it.

Last days of Summer at La Jolla Beach

So, the end of summer approaches, but it's fun. Spent the day at La Jolla beach. The water is so clear and pretty, and strong. I got tossed around so much I actually hurt my ankle. Sucks, I became physically inable to go snorkeling later that day, but it was still fun. The view was nice, the air was fresh, and the water was fun. I spent a lot of my time in a little cove, that was nice.

Shopping in LA

So, went up to LA yesterday to do some shopping. Got some comforters in preparation for college.

Alright, so on the way up, we stopped by a rest stop. You could have lived here if you had enough money. Vending machines sold food, snacks, sewing kits, toothbrushes, toothpaste, pain killers, bandages, and condoms. Yep. Condoms. That doesn't really sound like a good idea, buying condoms at a rest stop, but who knows...

So then we passed through Little Tokyo on our way up. It was neat. didn't really see too much though.

We went through a lot of shops while up in LA. Get some ice cream. Didn't buy anything though. We stopped by a pet shop, just because there were a lot of cute animals. The lovebirds were so adorable. There was a nice, really big parrot too.

Then we crashed a little at our cousin's new house. An awesome two story house with a balcony. We socialized, played with cousins, the likes. I've got a place to stay while I'm up in Riverside too :D

Then we went home. Arrived home at 1. Slept. Woke up. Blogged.

Picnic at Poway

So, we were invited to a picnic at Poway Lake. It was nice. I met some nice people, saw some nice sights, and overall had a lot of fun.

Lunch consisted of burritos. The meal was accompanied with lots of soda, watermelon, strawberries, grapes, and sesame seed balls (they're really good).

We rented boats and went out on the lake. It was pretty great. First time rowing a boat, so it took a little while to get used to, but I did it.

The rest of the day was spent socializing and playing card games.

GB.R4.503.01 Patch Notes - Welcome To PANGYA!

They've added the card system. Joy. Unfortunately, you need premium points to buy all of the cards. In the other servers, it's possible to win the cards as treasure. Hopefully they'll implement that here later.

Feathers have been re-released. My feather items just became a little less rare. At least Lucia has a feather now. Once I get that, she'll be complete *.*

A little more server stability has been added too. Hopefully I won't d/c as much now.

That's that. Overall, not a very exciting update.

My adventure at the kad-miv (CADMV)

Alright, so we got there at like 9:30. I was totally lost. Eventually, I found the sign that said "appointments check in here". So I followed it.

I got basic stuff done, information submitted and everything. Then I went over to have my picture taken. Took a little while, the line was kinda long.

There, they handed me the test. 36 questions. I was allowed to miss 6. I took a little while to get it done. Then I handed it in and waited for my results.

Time passes slowly. I waited, not thinking about too much, just listening for my name. Nervous about whether I passed or not, I breathed heavily.

"Jonathan" they called. I walked up to the counter, my paper had some red marks on it.

You...

...

I took a breath...

...

...Passed, here's your permit.

Phew. That was pretty intimidating. Missed only 3. So now, I can start practicing in a car. This should be fun...

Onto the next big thing! College! For now, I shall crash and dream of an Axiom Modbook Pro.

Back from the 5 day absence that was Comic-Con

JonFawkes Comic-Con 2009

Puwaaaa, I got the chance to go to Comic-con all 4 days plus preview night. What a week.

Day 0: Preview Night
Preview night was alright. It already felt like a normal comic-con day, just a little more crowded than normal. It certainly gave me a preview of how big comic-con was this year compared to last. Normally all of the booths would be half set-up, but this year, everyone was ready for business. I guess it could be counted as the fifth day of comic-con.

Day 1: What do we have here?
Today was mostly exploring and shopping and stuff. I saw a buncha neat stuff, namely at the Kinokuniya booth. Light-saber chopsticks! I hung around with Kat-chan for most of the day, looking at figures and hanging around the J-list booth. Wandered around for a long time, saw a buncha stuff. Kat-chan bought a lot of games, which was cool. I didn't buy anything though.

Day 2: Lunch at Hooters!
Yeah, that's right. Didn't do too much today. The most interesting thing that happened was that I got to eat lunch at Hooters, with Alex, David, and my lovely girlfriend Kat-chan. They've got really good food, though that shouldn't be surprising. We had a good time too. Also watched some SCA fights. That was pretty cool too. I decided to cosplay this day. I went in my Kaz costume (Pangya). I didn't find any Pangya fans, though a few people stopped me to take pictures. It was all cool. Ended the day with the J-list panel with Kat-chan. That was fun.

Day 3: To buy or not to buy
I decided to buy some stuff to day. Decided. I didn't actually have enough to buy anything, but I made up my mind that I was going to buy a Shinai and an awesome indie-game called Suguri. I went to the SCA fights again, decided to participate. I got a blister popped, but it was fun (the fighting, not the blister popping). Went to the Eureka panel with Kat-chan, that was fun. Also, ate lunch with Kat-chan at an awesome seafood resturaunt.

Day 4: The final day
Bought my Shinai and game. Went to lunch at Horton Plaza with Colette, Alex, and David. It was fun. Kat-chan had to leave early, so I didn't get to spend too much time with her. Spent the last hour or so in the Anime room, then came home to now.

Over the 4 days
I spent a good amount of time in the Anime rooms. I saw a few anime that I could potentially buy. Tears to Tiara, Doujin Work, and Familiar of Zero come immediately to mind. I don't remember the other stuff I saw, but I saw plenty. It was cool.
Also, I took pictures with cosplayers (or rather, I took pictures of my friends with cosplayers). There were some damn impressive cosplayers this year.

The stuff I missed
I didn't see a bunch of my friends. There was an elementary friend that contacted me on dA, but I missed his number because I didn't get online for the duration of comic-con. My bad. Also, some high-school friends were supposed to be there, but I didn't see them either. Oh well, maybe next year. Comic-con isn't exactly the place where you can decided to find someone and find them.

So that was my experience. Hope everyone else had a good time too. Time to crash.

So that was my day. That wasn't all of the sculptures, there were probably hundreds. I spent most of my time in the water, that was pretty rocking. I love the beach, I want to invite my friends some time.

College Orientation...tiring

It was all cool. It was a pretty intense day.

So I had to wake up early since it's a 2 hour drive up to Riverside from here. The orientation started at 9AM, which means I had to leave my house at 7.

So, we arrived. It was first meeting the advisors. My advisor was a cool guy.

We began our tour. Mostly, it was just looking around and learning the school chants and stuff. That was for just a little later where we had a test of enthusiasm. Our team didn't win, but it was pretty intense.

I think after that was lunch. It was decent. Not much to say.

After that, we went to an event called "Playfair", which was the huge community gathering to play some team building games. It was lame at points, and fun at points. That lasted a while.

Dinner was after that. Dinner was also decent.

Then came the intense (in all seriousness) "Building Our Common Ground". The whole community got together in a "silent conversation" where we were all asked serious questions and responded by congregating. It was pretty intense, everyone was so serious, but I think it was a good experience.

After that was a performance by the theatre troop. It was aplay about college issues. It was entertaining, and sad, and funny, and overall a very good performance. Makes me want to join theatre.

Night fell (actually it came earlier) and the night events started. There were 3 rooms. One room had arts 'n' crafts and board games. There was more socializing than actual doing of arts and games. There was another room that had one Wii in it, Brawl was playing. I spent most of the night in there. I kept coming in second, extremely close matches. There was also a room hosting a dance. Another social-y event, but with dancing, and Michael Jackson music.

I went to sleep at midnight. Decently late for me.

Day two, awoke at 7AM to meet up with advisors. We had breakfast. That was also decent.

Leanred about registering for classes here. Long lecture, but helpful.

Lunch. Same deal, different meal.

A short lecture about living on campus.

Then it was time to actually register for classes. Didn't take too long once I figured it out. Also went to take pictures for IDs.

Once that was all done with, it was time to say good-byes. I have no doubt that I'll see a lot of the people that I met there again in the fall. I think College is going to be one hell of an experience.

Birthday acknowledged, party was decent :3

So, today I had my birthday party. It was pretty decent. I invited a lot of my friends over. Didn't plan much further than that though ^^; I really should have, but whatever. Thanks to everyone that could make it :)

For my birthday, I received cookies (X3 yummy! they were great), a $20 gift card for Rising Sun (yay! Manga!), a $25 Ntreev cash card (awesome! Pangya!), Mass Effect (decently awesome game), and a cordless headset for my iPod Shuffle! (OMG awesome! Been eying these for a while).

The cookies were finished really fast, but it's all good :3 I haven't had a chance to redeem my gift cards yet, and my computer got a virus somehow, so I need to wait before I install Mass Effect, but at least I can enjoy my shuffle! (I'm actually listening to my iPod with them as I blog).

All of these gifts were surprises, I'm really happy for them. Thanks to everyone.

For cake, my mom ordered a really nice chocolate chocolate with chocolate ice cream cake from Baskin Robins. It had little hershey's kisses on it, which was nice.

Activities included Brawl, Anime (Card Captor Sakura), and talking, lots of talking. At one point everyone kinda split off and did their own thing with eachother, reminded me of a school social event ^^; Everyone seemed content though, so it's all good

Finally got to give Kat-chan her Plush Hello Kitty Ice Cream, and the Hello Kitty Yan Yan snack. :3

So now I'm here. It was a decent day, and I'm so glad I got to see everyone. One person told me: "You only turn 18 once!" and while it may not have been the best celebration, I think it was okay :3 maybe my 19th or big 2-Oh will be better.

Waking up to Pangya Season 4 and my Birthday!

What an exciting day. I was too excited to sleep, so here I am blogging.

I'll probably play mostly Pangya today, since my party is tomorrow.

I might draw some. Chat with people. Check emails. I like getting happy birthday wishes :3

Also, it appears that it's Tesla's birthday. That's pretty cool. I want a Tesla lightbulb for my dorm, just because it'd be awesome.

I'm 18 now! That means porn and weapons! No drinking yet, but it's all good.

I should probably go eat something now.

Season 4 Maintenance Announcement - Welcome To PANGYA!

It's official. They've announced Season 4 of Pangya US! :D

Season 4 opens tomorrow early morning (3AM pacific time). Just in time for my birthday too :D

With season 4 comes the new course, the new game mode, and the new character. I'm pretty psyched about it.

Hopefully community problems will be fixed too. There are still a lot of hackers and general rule-breakers, but maybe it'll be easier to control in S4.

No Pangya for 24 hours. Maybe I'll play Project Powder, or Fantasy Tennis or something. Is it me or do I have a thing for sports MMOs?

Awesome sheet music collection. I want to buy this book if only to learn 小さなてのひら and Gentle Jena. It looks like a nice full collection. It's a little expensive at about $40-some US dollars, but I'd totally spend that much on a book like this.

Went out this morning, and I had my camera, so I'm going to photo blog a little

First sign I saw. This sounds like one of the most unhealthy things in the world. I think this was what I smelled though, and it smelled delicious :L Yes, that's the Del Mar fairground

So we actually came to the fair grounds to attend an award ceremony or something for my mom's class. This isn't my mom's work, this was some random person's that I thought was impressive.

Season 4 is Coming!

Ntreev's doing a pretty good job at catching up to the other servers, though I'm worried about them catching up too fast.

Well, nonetheless, S4 is coming, which will be awesome. Expecting a new course and a new character. The event offers a chance to get Lucia free too.

The other update is to the "Scratchy Card" lottery system. Personally, I think this could be good and bad. You only get 1 card for every 1000 premium points (about $1 USD) you spend. This means you can't buy a lot of cards at once, but this could also mean that the rate for obtaining the rares are nice and high (that's the hope at least).

The current rares at Elven Ears for Kooh, Wedding Dress for Ceci, and SSAF set for Nuri. What a random set of rares. I don't think it's actually worth winning, and I can't get premium points to spend anyway, so I'll skip it :/ but this is pretty disappointing.

That's really all there is to say about it. There's no big event on the Pangya PC game (though I'm hoping there will be). It doesn't appear that the US release has any cool bonuses either. Maybe I'm just not checking enough sources.

The Tomy site says "PSP Exclusive Content" but that could mean anything :\

Hopefully things will pick up as the days come. Like I said, not much to say now.

That camera I got for graduation. Just messing around and stuff.

Graduated! Now, onto the future

What a day. I've finally graduated, school is over. The farewells have been said, and the ceremony was awesome.

I got an awesome camera from my uncle. Don't know what else to say other than it's awesome ^^

Seeing my friends for the last time was really hard. I'm not too worried about not seeing them again soon, but for some of them I fear I might never see again. Like I stated in my last life post, I won't even forget, and I hope they won't forget me.

It was a pretty great ceremony. Everyone looked great, we had some great speakers, and it was all just very exciting. To finally receive my diploma, it really is life-changing.

Also, this is a farewell to the slab. One last get-together with the knights at our place of origin. I'll never forget the memories we made there. Our wonderful empress made us some beautiful plaques as part of graduation too.

The one of the hardest hurdles in life has been passed. Time to move on. I won't forget that it's okay to look back, to slow down once in a while in life. If I've learned anything, it's that there's so much to do and not enough time to do it. Just worry about doing everything I can, and if there's anything left over I just hope there won't be any regrets.

Only half the day's over and I'm exhausted. Time to relax :) More laters

Just a quick Pangya JP post.

The first half of this update includes waiter outfits for Max, Daisuke, Arin, and Lucia. They all look great, the ears are especially cute.

The second part is a Tuna club set. Hilarious XD Goes right along with the Megurine Arin outfit. I think it's supposed to give a special Pangya graphic when you hit Pangya.

These are all for the Bongdari (Papel) lottery. I don't play Pangya JP because of the foreign IP ban, but those outfits look pretty nice. If I could, I'd go for it.

That's how I'm feeling right now.

It's pretty much the last day. I don't have any more school, and only need to go back for graduation.

I'm excited about graduation. It's something I've been looking forward to for a while now. Funny, in the beginning, I dreaded school and wanted it to end. The only reason I stuck around was my friends, and what valuable friends they have been. Now that it's over, I wish there was a little more time.

Yeah, that's been my mantra for a while now. "There's so much that I want to do, and not enough time to do it." I keep wishing that I can finish everything that I want to. I don't want to leave my relationships too open, but I don't want closure. I'm honestly going to miss each and every person. I truly regret not strengthening my relationships more, but I guess it's hard with all of the obligations I have.

I'm sad that I have to say goodbye. No, that's not quite correct. I don't want to say goodbye, I want to stay in touch with everyone. I know I may not see them again in the near future, but maybe my want will be strong enough.

It's all over, and I can breath a sigh of relief, it's all over. Then again, I can shed a tear, it's all over. I'm extremely split at the moment. I don't want it to be over, but I also want to move on.

Life goes on, and I don't want to be lost in the flow. I've learned so many things from the friends I've made. Whether they have taught me out-right or passively, I'll value the things I've experienced with them.

This isn't goodbye. That's my greatest hope. I know I will make my best efforts to stay in touch. Whether or not that is reflected, I'll remember. This isn't closure everyone, this is possibly a transition into a tougher part of life. The memories will support me through life, and I hope that my friends will still be there later.

See you at graduation, lets all walk together, during the ceremony as well as beyond that.

Haven't posted in a few days, so I'll give a very quick and brief overview of my first impressions.

It's a wonderfully violent series, and there are some abstract ideas, but overall the story is original and exciting.

The music is great, the opening theme is by KOTOKO of I've Sound, which is kind of cool.

I'll probably watch the rest eventually, it's pretty cool

Yeah, I got a day off from everything. You'd think it'd be great.

It's boring as hell. I'm not allowed to do much. Whatever. Just a nice day to relax I guess.

So here's the situation: I've got internship from 9AM to 4PM, but today, my mentor has some training program he has to attend, which is (almost conveniently) from 9AM to 4PM. So, I got the day off :D

Now, what to do...Maybe I'll draw or something.

I wasn't the one doing the pirating, and I do fight against it, people just don't listen, and now they face the consequences.

My sister was caught downloading episodes of Shugo Chara Doki!. We've been sent a cease and desist order, as well as a request to remove all of the material that is considered copyright infringement.

If not, our internet connection on being threatened. That would be a sad day indeed, but now I hope one more person is at least a non-pirate.

Hopefully they learn. No matter how innocent you may seem, if you pirate, you will get caught.

A video for Tales of VS. It appears to be out in Japan, it should be coming to America soon enough.

As I suspected, it looks like a Smash Bros featuring the Tales characters, which is awesome! It looks like they've got new models for the older characters. Everything looks so nice, all things considered.

I wonder how the stats are going to work. I imagine balance will be thrown off a little. Hopefully when it's player vs player it will be okay.

A pretty good cast list. I think it's kind of strange how they would choose Richter to represent Tales of Symphonia 2 instead of of Emil or Marta, but I don't mind too much.

I can't wait to play this.

Hilarious. Someone replaced all of the character models with touhou characters. It appears the main character is Remilia Scarlet.

Obviously motions aren't perfect, I assume that's because of proportions. Whatever, funny.

Around 3:00 they run over a Chen (I think).

Not all of models are replaced, but the modder will probably do more eventually.

Grad Nite!!! Disneyland

Several High Schools all over the west coast got a chance to stay overnight at Disneyland for night-long partying. Exclusive to graduating seniors of course.

It was pretty epic. We arrived at maybe 10PM by a nice charter bus and hung out for a little. We waited in front of the Tomorrow-land area, eager for space mountain. So was about 10,000 other people (exaggerating just a little there). As soon as those ropes went down, it was a stampede, the crew members didn't even try to stop us.

We went on a lot of the rides. Space Mountain and Star Tours was first, those have got to be the best. It was my first time on the tabogan thingy, that was pretty cool. I also got to see the Pirates attraction, that was okay too.

Kat-chan and I waited forever in a line to get on the Big Thunder ride, but by the time we got up to the cart, it had broken down. Quite a disappointment, but at least it didn't break down while we were on it.

We shared some hot chocolate and a churro. We kind of got separated from the group around Tea-Cups, but that's okay.

It was fun just enjoying the park. It's quite bustling at night with nothing but high schoolers and DJs. The music was too bad. At least the HTH DJs weren't controlling the choices or it would have all been crap.

There was a very light mist through the whole night. It was kind of refreshing actually.

We stood and watched the 3:00 fireworks show, that was pretty kicking. Synched to music and everything, with pyrotechnics that you could feel from 300 feet away (not kidding), maybe more.

All of this after a long day of internship where I was hiking through canyons. Now I'm writing this after maybe 20 hours of non-stop moving and walking and fun in general.

The bus ride home was nice. We had a really big roomy charter bus. I was awake for the way to disneyland, but was completely conked out on the way home I think. It was nice and relaxing, the gloom made it all the better.

I hope it stays gloomy like this, it's so nice and cozy right now.

I'll get my pictures from the Astro Blasters eventually. Kat-chan will probably post about the cute Graduation Mickey doll she got too.

Even through the whole night, it didn't feel long enough. We couldn't hit all of the attractions, but I think we covered the major ones.

Okay, sleepy time. I've got a nice weekend ahead hopefully.

GAME「A.C.S.」

Probably not as good as Tales of VS, but this is a pretty darn good game.

2D doujin freeware. A lot of the sprites are ripped from previous tales games, but a lot of it looks original too. They rendered the Abyss characters nicely.

Try it out for yourself, it's only a few megabytes big. This is really a must for a fan of the Tales series.

EDIT: In case you can't find it, it's the option that says 「A.C.S.」本体(download) under the third menu section.

Prom, what a night

So, this year's theme was Moulin Rouge. Pretty exciting stuff there I guess.

I went with the oh-so-lovely Kat-chan. I worked hard to match her elegant light green.

She looked absolutely stunning ☆。☆ Got her hair done, also had a whole tube of glitter and sparkles dumped on her. She was like a cuter version of Tinkerbell :) That's what everyone was saying. That's my fairy girlfriend ;3

I got to her house at about 5 or 5:30. Took some pictures and then left for dinner.

We had dinner at the South Park Bar & Grill. Ordered some Ahi Poke as an appetizer, it was really good. I has a grilled salmon as the main course, Kat-chan had a sirloin steak. Dessert was a warm deep dish cookie topped with ice cream. Delicious. We also made it for Happy Hour :D

We didn't look too strange, all dressed up. There was probably one other couple there. Kind of surprising really. According to Kat it's supposed to be really busy there. The couple identified us as prom goers, that was kinda neat.

It was straight to prom after that. Prom was hosted at Hyatt Mission Bay Hotel. Nice and fancy. The food looked okay, I didn't have much though.

Everyone looked so nice ☆。☆ I'm glad I at least got the chance to say hi to everyone.

I mostly hung out with Kat through the whole night. We talked, with eachother, and with other people. That's what you do at these social events, I don't really go for the dance.

The selection of music was crappy. It was all rap and hip-hop. There was one instance of a hip-hop remix of Never Gonna Give You Up (that's right, Rick Astley's song). We didn't dance to that either.

I got Kat to dance to the last song of the night. It wasn't the slow dance I wanted, but whatever.

We left promptly after. I (my dad) drove her home. I said good night to her there and parted with her.

That was my night. It wasn't the most exciting, but if I could do it all over again, I probably would.

Time to go back to sleep, I got home at like 2 after all.

It looks awesome! That's some innovative battle system there, it looks like a lot of fun. I might give it a try, don't know how long I'll stick with it. It is only beta for now.

Well, my brother decided to do the laundry today. Great idea. He feels he needs to get things done as fast as possible so he can get back to his games, so he just pushed everything into one load and washed it. All of the colors and whites were mixed. You know what that means!

So all of my white shirts and socks are a weird shade of pale blue now. It doesn't look too bad (trying to be optimistic here) but it doesn't look too good either (there goes the optimism).

Can't wait 'til I move out. Don't have to deal with this anymore.

Pangya PSP

It's the English release of Pangya PSP! It's finally got its own place on the Tomy site. The trailer isn't all that different from the Korean or Japanese trailers, save the logo.

I can't wait for it to come out, if I could pre-order I would.

Here's hoping we get some of the same goodies that Japan and Korea got, like the figurine or the PSP pouch

DREAM C CLUB（ドリームクラブ）

Found a cute (and sexy) promotional video for Dream C Club while browsing Nico.

As far as I can tell, it's an XBox 360 release. It appears to be a rhythm game with some visual novel/date-sim elements, and extremely cute girls.

It could very well be an H-game, but considering that it's a console release, they probably kept to to suggestive.

The graphics look really nice. Developers are taking full advantage of the 360's rendering capabilities. If only more games looked like that (the rendering style, though I wouldn't mind more cute girls in games either).

All of the girls' boobs appear to have their own physics engine applied or something, their hair doesn't even move as smoothly.

End of spring break...

It's the end of spring break, and I did nothing productive!

Lets see, a quick reflection on what I did do:

-Eated
-Slept
-Went shopping for Kat-chan
-Went to see Kat-chan
-drew some stuff
-Pangya
-some other MMOs
-other non-productive stuff

So, that's my spring break. No wild parties, unless you count Kat-chan's birthday celebration as wild (oh, an hour of DDR, how wild).

It's too bad Pangya had to come back so late too. But it'll be there.

Maybe I shoulda made some plans. But that would have required planning to make a plan. Then I would have had to plan to make a plan to...

The end of spring break deserves the "sad" tag, because it is. Hopefully the rest of the year won't be too hard.

The message for a successful transfer. Literally minutes after, I tried again, and it worked! I knew it was just a bug, gotta stay optimistic.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the account you are trying to transfer has been permanently closed by the previous publisher of Albatross 18.
Accounts closed in this manner cannot be transferred to Ntreev USA.

That's the message I got after trying to transfer my old account. I'm keeping in mind that this attempt was right after the announcement was made (like literally minutes after). Some investigation reveals that just about everyone else is having the same problem, so I suspect it's a bug on Ntreev's part. Maybe it's because they had to rush to get this out, hopefully this will be fixed soon.

The official migration is going to take a little, but Pangya is officially back up starting tomorrow! Holy crap!

Too bad it's near the end of break for me, but hooray! I'll soon have Pangya again!

Tales of Vesperia coming to PS3

It's not a sequel, but a port.

It's not quite a port either though. ToV for the PS3 includes what appears to be a new character (Patty Fleur), new dungeon(s?), new monsters/bosses, and an addition to the battle system (see trailer). The stuff in the red box on the bottom left I shall elaborate on later.

Other uncited rumors include Flynn being a greater part of the story rather than joining you for one battle.

The new character isn't quite my type, but battling with her looks like it's going to be awesome. Who wouldn't want to play as a gun-toting loli pirate? Plenty of people, but whatever, it's all good.

I can't wait 'til this comes out in America. At this time, the planned release date for Japan is in the 3rd quarter of this year. If all goes well, we can all play through ToV again by 2010!

I wonder how they're going to work her into the story. I kind of hope there will be a complete revamp of the game's script so there will be something new. At the very least, this will be something interesting.

Now, the issue with the red box on the bottom left. That is an announcement for the Tales of Vesperia Anime Movie. That's right, Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike, also scheduled for a 2009 release, is a prequel to the game. I'm hoping Bandai Entertainment is going to be a good company and license/release it here in America. I'm still holding out the the Symphonia OVA to be licensed here too.

Tales of Fighting game!!!

It's appears to be a cross between two awesome games (Smash bros and Tales of), with the Tales heroes (and heroines) dating back to Tales of Destiny (maybe even further back).

The graphics look decent for PSP, and the gameplay can be nothing short of awesome if they stick to the Tales trademark battle system.

This is going on the list of "Awesome PSP games I must have!" It's getting to be quite a list

So, Kat-chan had her birthday celebration yesterday :) Even though it's officially on the 15th. She's going to Disneyland, so yay :D

Fun party, very casual. We had food, listened to a lot of Miku, watched a little bit of the Densha Otoko movie, and played DDR.

Turns out, I'm still decent at DDR :)

Very fun. I got Kat-chan some nice Godiva chocolate, I hope she likes it.

So, there was a fire literally a block away from my house. It was not some small BBQ fire either, a couple of trees and the small field in the park was on fire.

I watched for like 10 minutes as it burn. It started getting closer, but then the firemen came.

And there were go. That was my day.

I can't understand it, but I'll talk about what I can understand.

It looks like they're promoting the Afterburners Blue (I can't remember the actual name of the clubset) set. I don't know why they chose the afterburners, the Mythril Swords would have made a lot better promo.

The second and third link from the left on the navigation bar appears to be ways to customize your afterburners. You can choose the handle and the wings. There are some "coming soon" placeholders, but I doubt those will be filled in.

Also, the fourth link from the left on the top navigation bar leads to a page about a set of "P5P" games, The PangyaM@stery. The logo is a parody of the IDOLM@STER logo, I wonder if the "game" is the game. Clicking on the images leads to a description about the game, but I can't read it (can't google-translate it either). The game covers look interesting though.

Can't figure out what the far right link is. I can read the required spaces (which appear to be the requirements to run the game). I think it's more promotion. The link below leads to a page that advertises Pangya. A similar diagram appears there, pointing out the key features of Pangya.

Number 1 is the friendly interface. Number 2 is the various settings and courses. Number 3 is the large number of items to customize characters (the 1000 I assume is the number of options). The Afterburners page uses similar writing, so I assume that it's probably the same.

So there's my cover of Pangya JP's april fools event (it's April 1st in Japan right now BTW). Maybe someone who actually speaks Japanese could give better explanations.

Announcement

Well, the last day of March. Pangya US was scheduled to launch late March, but it's now the end of March. That's okay though, they at least posted an announcement stating why it's late.

Looks like account transfers aren't going very smoothly, but I'd rather they have a thorough migration rather than risking the loss of some data.

The end of the announcement says that Pangya will be out April. I'll be watching out for that, can't wait

The game boasts a mating system, not unlike Asda Story. The difference is, this game looks so much cuter.

Holy crap this game looks amazing. It's an MMO by Square Enix. It has to be good. From the trailer, it looks pretty. Looking at actual gameplay video: wow!

The graphics look stunning. They don't have to be all realistic to be good you know. The movement looks smooth, gameplay looks nice.

Battle system really gets me. It doesn't look like your normal "click on the enemy to kill them" kind of. It looks like they've got jumping and dodging and reflecting and needing to aim with the bow... Very exciting.

Only in Japanese though. If they released it here in America, I would totaly play it. Square Enix has got my money for sure. Makes me want to play their other MMO, Concerto Gate.

UNITY: What's New in Unity 2.5

So, they finally released Unity on windows. I've been waiting for this for a while, and now it's finally out. I'll give it a test, and I'll probably try to buy it (though, it looks like a high end program that's really expensive).

I'll give it a try maybe this summer, when I can get full use of the 30 days trial.

If anyone else wants to try it, tell me how it is. It looks very promising.

We saw Coraline. It was creepy awesome. That's really all I have to say about it. One of the few movies nowadays that's neither CG, hand-drawn, or actor & camera. The clay-mation/stop-motion was extremely impressive. The storytelling was masterful too. I haven't read the book yet, but I have a feeling I should. A film I would totally recommend.

Arrived home to Dad's birthday dinner. Shrimp, fresh crab, fried rice, mushroom soup, and some other stuff I can't remember. Quite a feast. Too bad I'm allergic to shell-fish. I enjoyed it.

A very eventful day. A reunion with the Knights as well as a birthday feast. It's almost the end of the day though. Luckily tomorrow I've got the day off!

A great day, turned excellent.

Ntreev Pangya announcement

Kind of. NtreevUSA has announced that the new Pangya website will be available on March 12th.

The update just states that the website will be available. The servers to play the game will be coming soon after.

Ntreev's really showing some promise, so I have no doubt that they'll keep their word, releasing the server before the end of March. Some push back wouldn't be too bad, as long as it isn't Starcraft Ghost.

Too bad I can't actually play. The Pangya US server officially closes tomorrow at 1PM, but I'll be at school then so I won't get a chance to log on or whatever. That's okay.

Pangya won't be gone forever though. Ntreev has scheduled to release their server in the same month that OGPlanet closes. It's quite exciting really. I hope I won't have to start all over though.

Just a quick post about that. I shall post again upon the opening of the new server :)

It's an oppai mousepad. No, that's not an accurate name.

It's one of those mousepads with a wrist-rest. It's quite ergonomic, takes a lot of strain off your wrist when mousing around.

But whatever. Why not spice things up a little. A little lower than the 'oppai'.

I'm pretty sure it's one of those '3 Dimensional' mousepads. I could very well be wrong, the picture isn't very good IMO (not that I was looking for too long >.>)

Blackouts all day

Wow, how exciting. The electricity was out all day for what seemed like the whole block, maybe even a little further. Even the streetlights were off.

It was exciting and scary at the same time. It's quite fun to be running around in the dark looking for flashlights and candles and trying not to burn yourself while lighting the candles.

We played blackjack all day, my siblings and I, since there wasn't much else to do. Didn't do all too well, good thing we weren't betting real money.

Good thing I wasn't doing anything too important either. It was a cold day though, looked like it was gonna rain, so no going outside. Cooped inside with no electricity, some may ask how they would survive.

Whatever, I had fun. I wouldn't wish for it again, but if it did happen, no worries.

She was so sweet and baked me a big batch of brownies :3 they had those colorful chocolate candies in them.

I feel kinda bad, I only bought her a box of chocolates and a teddy bear. I took her out to a cafe (Panera) for lunch :3 and then got her a milkshake from the Coldstone Creamery.

I wish I got a little more time, but I was a little rushed after school. That's okay.

It's too bad that Kat-chan is busy tomorrow, I really want to spend more time with her :3

It's official. Ntreev America has picked up Pangya, so we will still have Pangya to play! The announcement also talks about efforts to migrate existing accounts over, so I won't lost everything! There's still hope!

Hopefully hackers will stay away, or at the very least Ntreev will take better care of Pangya. Maybe actually update the anti-hacking system.

It looks like it picks up where OGPlanet leaves it, so hooray for that. It should be a pretty smooth transition into the new PangyaUSA!

How lame, it looks like the rumors about A18 closing down are true. It looks like OGPlanet just didn't want to renew the license, so now there is no more PangyaUSA.

The only ones left are PangyaJP (where foreign IPs are banned), PangyaKR (I wish I could speak korean T.T), and PangyaGAO (french, english? Some kinda british, like FantaTennis). PangyaBR, PangyaPhilippenes, and some other servers I can't remember closed down. Maybe they couldn't pay for the license either.

And I was doing so well. I'll just have to move to another server I guess and start from scratch. I'll have no chance of getting premium items though. I was so close to Amateur E so that I could get Angel Wings.

I had my fun times on Albatross18, I made some good friends. I'll never forget Watchy, for he inspired me to keep on playing by giving me a nice boost when I first started. Also a shoutout to my guild, Angelic Pangya, because the one guild match I played was fun. Also to everyone else on my buddy list, thanks for helping me in the PSquare, playing some amazing games with me, teaching me the tricks to getting better, and overall making it a great game even though it was overrun by hackers and unfair economy.

What's really shameful is that OGPlanet doesn't seem to care about Alabtross18. They blatantly advertise their other games and are trying to get players to move there by hosting an event where you'll get nice items for making a new character on their other games. You know what? I don't care about the other games, I want to play Pangya.

Here's hoping that NtreevUSA or someone makes some efforts to try to preserve all of the account data and reopen the server eventually.
